About Sheila Raleigh

I grew up on a farm and attended Royal Valley High School, a 4A high school in Hoyt, Kansas.  There were 51 graduates in my class.  I was an FFA member and was in 4-H for 10 years showing cattle and hogs, besides my sewing and cooking projects.

I attended Kansas State University and was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority.  I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education.  I taught 2nd grade in Syracuse, Kansas.  From there I decided to return to KSU to obtain my Master's Degree in Elementary Counseling and took additional classes in order to be certified as a K-12 Counselor.  I have worked in the Sedgwick and El-Saline school districts teaching 5th grade science, counselng and coaching track before coming to Goddard.

I have worked for the Goddard school district since August of 1994.  I was initially hired as one of the Goddard HIgh School counselors. We were a grades 10-12 building located in the "roundhouse" (where Discovery is currently). I also coached the WheatChix.   I worked at that level for 10 years.   From there I transferred to Eisenhower Middle School where I also coached the cheerleaders.

I have 2 children who attend school in Goddard.

I enjoy attending my children's cheerleading and athletic events.  I like to work in the yard, ride horses and cook for my friends and family.  I also enjoy working with animals, traveling and camping.
