Goddard USD 265 Hosts First District Coaches Conference: Building Stronger Teams and Leaders
[Goddard, KS] – Local coaches from USD 265 gathered for a day of professional development and camaraderie at the recent coaches conference. The event, sponsored by Hellas and BSN, provided attendees with valuable insights into team building, culture, and coaching philosophies.
A highlight of the conference was a keynote address by renowned coach and leadership expert, Brad McCoy. With a distinguished career spanning over two decades, McCoy has led teams to multiple state championships and is widely respected for his ability to develop both athletes and individuals. His presentation focused on the importance of creating a positive and supportive team culture, emphasizing the role of coaches in shaping young lives.
Oscar Rodriguez, head football coach from Chula Vista, California, shared his experiences and strategies for building successful teams. Presenters, Amber Brunswig, Marcus James, Brian Means and Steve Blue, contributed their perspectives on coaching styles and the challenges and rewards of leadership.
In addition to the inspiring talks, coaches had the opportunity to network with colleagues, exchange ideas, and learn from each other's experiences. The conference also included a hands-on CPR recertification session, ensuring that coaches are equipped to handle emergencies on and off the field.
