These students were the top sellers for our Texas Roadhouse gift card fundraiser. The PTO made almost $500 and we appreciate everyone's support.

Spirit week twins.

Don't forget the Book Fair will be open until 6 pm on Tuesday Dec 12 and Wednesday Dec 13. There are so many wonderful books to see!

Mrs. Long's class made gingerbread houses on Friday.

Happy Friday! The kids have had such an amazing week using their tiger traits. The drawing box was stuffed! This cute group of 5 won a step by step drawing book for 101 items. We love books like this for all grades! We can't wait to see all of the artwork they create.
We also started our Novel time with Nala. These two will get to have fun with Mrs. G and Nala next week!
Have an amazing weekend! Five more days until break next week. They are going to be so fun!

Student of the month Tiger Trait winners were announced yesterday. Congratulations to these Oak Street Tigers for showing responsibility.

Oak Street would like to extend a very special thank you to the EHS Madrigals for performing for us today at Pathway Church before the 3rd graders practiced their music concert.

1st grade had a very special author visit this morning. Mr. Scribner, a former music teacher, who wrote the book titled, "How Lola Got Her Wings" just happens to be Mrs. Moses' dad! 1st grade enjoyed listening to Mr. Scribner read his book which features a flamingo named Lola. The book is about how Lola overcomes her fears in school by enrolling into a dance class.

Our kids learned a life lesson this morning! The staff forgot to draw at the end of the day for the Tiger Ticket drawing. It is good for them to see that even adults make mistakes! I don't think anyone minded though, especially after seeing the smiles on the faces of this group of five! Our winners are going to learn how to draw 101 things from a step by step instructional book. Such a fun book that makes anyone an artist! Great work showing your tiger traits so far this week. We will have a second drawing on Friday for another set of these books! Keep showing that you are responsible, respectful and persevering! We promise to not forget on Friday!

These friends all had Baby Grogu lunch boxes today.

These 4th & 1st grade buddy classes enjoyed some time together this morning working on a fun holiday craft! ☃️

Lady Lions are hosting a clinic December 20 from 5-7 at GHS. It is open to preK-6th graders.

TONIGHT is Oak Street Elementary Spirit Night at Chick-fil-A from 3-10 pm at the Maple & Ridge location. Tell them you're with Oak Street and they will donate 20% of the proceeds back to the PTO.

As we celebrate National Special Education Day, we have a lot of things to be excited about as we enter our third year of being the host district in the Goddard Special Education Cooperative. Our cooperative serves 1,732 students in 21 school buildings within the communities of Goddard, Clearwater, Conway Springs, and Cheney. Our cooperative also serves students with disabilities who attend St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Wichita, Holy Spirit in Goddard, St. Joseph in Conway Springs, and St. Peter in Schulte. Our staff in these communities do an incredible job of working with all students regardless of their disability. They define the mission of our cooperative, that all students can learn together in a school community and participate meaningfully via inclusive education systems that meet the unique needs of all students.

It is Friday and the kids definitely had the Tiger Ticket drawing on their minds! Each of these five won a cool learning ball set that can get them to work on their imagination and coordination.
We also have a new prize to announce for two students each week. Drawing from Tiger Tickets we will pull two names that have earned "Novel Nala" time. Nala is Mrs. G's therapy dog and these two will get to do a fun activity with her next week. It could be taking her on a walk, reading her a book or snuggling while listening to a story! We are so excited for all the bonds to form between the students and Nala!
Super job showing your Tiger Traits this week Oak Street!

At Oak Street we have 5 Interrelated Teachers (1 per grade), Three Mixed Abilities Teachers, over 20 Paraprofessionals, 2 Speech Pathologists, 1 Occupational Therapist, 1 Physical Therapist, 1 Adaptive PE Teacher, 1 Social Worker and 1 School Psychologist busy working with all students. This picture is just a sampling! So glad we could get together on December 1st to reflect on this special day tomorrow and how this group assists our students with such care!

GHS Boys Basketball is hosting a camp November 28 and November 29 at GHS from 6:00-7:30. This camp is open to boys in grades 3-8.

Some people have Spring cleaning, but Mrs. Mullen has Fall cleaning. She has been busy cleaning out the Tiger Ticket Prize area to make room for all the new items! This prize winning group earned a bag o' fun with a variety of age appropriate prizes! We went with two winners per grade this week as a thank you for all the great tiger traits shown over the past 5 days. Sometimes it is even more challenging when our schedules are unique and switched up to do the right thing, but this group proved they could persevere! Proud of you tigers! Have an amazing Thanksgiving Break!
